SUMMARY:“Celebrate NEBS’s 130th Anniversary with the ‘Dead Botanists Society’”
DESCRIPTION:This event has been rescheduled from 9/13/2026 to 9/20/2026 due to weather. Additionally\, we will now be meeting at the Asa Gray Garden. Please note there are services at the Story Chapel and avoid entering or congregating there. \nFor New England Botanical Society’s 130th anniversary\, we’ll be celebrating with the ‘Dead Botanists Society’ of Mount Auburn Cemetery. The cemetery\, established in 1831\, is a National Historic Landmark and considered the first “garden cemetery” in the United States. The collection features more than 2\,500 taxa (in over 20\,000 plantings) throughout 175-acres. It is also the final resting place for several notable botanists in NEBS’s history. Visit our Meetings page for details.
