Library and Archives
Library
The NEBS maintains a library of approximately 600 volumes, created through purchase and donations. Currently, the collection emphasizes botanical literature pertaining to bryophytes and vascular plants. The holdings emphasize regional and local floras and taxonomic treatments and monographs, and also contains unpublished works by members of the NEBS (formerly New England Botanical Club). The library also contains the complete series of the society’s journal Rhodora (bound), and NEBC/NEBS Council minutes (bound). The library is housed in a shared office at the Harvard University Herbaria, Cambridge, MA.
Archives
The NEBS maintains an archive of important documents generated since 1894. The archives includes materials such as Council minutes, Club (Society) meeting minutes, financial records, committee meeting minutes, correspondence, field notebooks and plant lists, plant locality cards, photographs, biographies of members, scrapbooks, records of Rhodora administration and correspondence, and information on NEBS history. The Archive is housed by the Harvard University Herbaria.
